Dear Grey the Great,
It is such a joy to be your mommy and daddy. It's been 8 months, but we are still in awe that we have a beautiful baby girl. You brighten our every day with your smile and sweet personality.
You are a serious, very observant baby who gives the sweetest smiles. It's hard to get you to laugh, but when you do, it just melts our hearts. You love to go new places and take in everything around you. You study people, places, and things with such intensity- it's so cute!
This month brought about lots of developmental changes! Your daddy said that you're really starting to act like a human! : ) You are crawling, pulling-up, babbling, getting into/enjoying foods, sitting up for long periods of time, sitting in a high chair, using your "pincher" fingers (great for eating those Puffs!), and more!
Your current schedule cannot really be called a schedule. After you came down with a yucky cold this month, you've just been all messed up. Hardly napping and waking up as early as 4! Prior to that you were napping 2-3 times a day and eating 5-6 ounces 5 times a day. Your day was starting at 6:30 and you were going to sleep around 6/6:30. I am looking forward to being home with you over Christmas break to work on getting you back on a schedule. I think you're ready to move to two naps (a morning and afternoon), as you're currently taking just two short 45 min. naps in the morning. Your wake times are anywhere from 1.5-2 hours.
My favorite time of the day with you is bedtime. We love giving you a bath because it makes you so happy! When you nurse before bed, mommy says special prayers with you, and then daddy comes in and prays with us before we put you down. On date nights, we pray with you before we leave. Praying daily as a family is very important to your daddy and I, and we want you to grow up with this as part of our every day routine. We pray you will know God's love for you.
Thank you for being you, Grey. You are a blessing to us and to many others. Being your parents has changed our marriage, our relationship with God, and the whole way we look at the world- in all the best ways possible. We love you more than words.
XOXO-
Mommy and Daddy

Those leggings are adorable. I'm sorry she's been sick:( We're battling an ear infection right now. Not fun!
It made me laugh when your hubby said, she is acting more like a human:) Sounds like something my Jarod would say! She is def. becoming more and more aware of her surroundings! I noticed she was grabbing on to her owl and sign in most pictures!
She is just precious, girl! I love how you write to and about her :)
