...This past weekend we got the heck out of dodge and drove down to Fredericksburg, TX. to meet up with some of our favorite couples! This was Jared and I's first time to visit this quaint little town in the hill country. It every bit as cute as I had heard & I wish we had had just one more day there!
Road trip ready! Leggings were a must for the almost 5 hr car ride!
We arrived at our house in "the 'burg" Friday afternoon, unloaded our cars, and immediately set out for a wine tasting. Becker Vineyards was fun- they let us choose from all their wines on what we wanted to taste and everyone was able to taste exactly what they wanted to, which made it a unique experience!
After Becker, we headed straight to Ottos in downtown Fredericksburg for a German dinner. It did not disappoint. The drinks, the entrees, the DESSERT! Any place that has a gluten free chocolate cake gets an A+ in my book.
Saturday was rainy, but us gals got ourselves around and walked around the downtown area and checked out shops & had a little sangria slushie to hold us over until our next round of tastings.
These girls.
We went back to the house and changed out of our clothes and loaded up on the bus for our wine tour! It was a much different wine trip than this one from a couple years ago, but equally as fun! I'm not sure I just LOVE Texas wine, but there was one vineyard that definitely stole my heart- Santa Maria. Their wine was delicious!!
This was our first stop- Inwood. They had a couple wines we liked, but the owner left a lot to be desired in terms of presentation and personality.
Jared snapped this of me at Inwood and has dubbed it the "Renaissance" picture.
Steph and I at Santa Maria, our last stop. Love this girl- you can't be around her and not laugh until your cheeks hurt and belly aches.
That was the end of my pictures! Saturday night we had early reservations at Crossroads in downtown, which was a great steakhouse. Then we headed back to our house and had game night before turning in before midnight. #because3kidseach #becauseweareold
It was the best little weekend get away with friends. My heart needed some good girl talk...and good wine! :) And a shout out to Gigi who held down the fort while we were away!
