F-I-V-E Whole Years...

...I'm kind of in denial about this gal turning five last week. I just feel like 5 signifies a big turning point. She hasn't been a baby for a while, but geez, now there's no toddler left either, just this big girl with a personality all her own. She's developing confidence and interests and I can just see God's hand in her life. A constant prayer for her at our house is that we would encourage her to be exactly who God has created her to be. That we wouldn't put our own hopes and ideals on her, but that her perfectly created personality, passions, dreams, and desires would shine through as God intends.

A few things about Grey...

She's older and bigger, but she's still a tiny thing. She moved into mostly 4Ts in December. She is in the 7th %tile for height & 18th %tile for weight.
This girl has gained SO MUCH confidence over the last year. She's still on the shy side with strangers, but once she trusts you and opens up to, oh my!
She requests to order her own meal when eating out, she now poses like no other for pictures, she asks to try new things and is just so much more confident and brave that she has been in the past.
She LOVES school! She is a pretty obedient girl and gets along with all her friends and is a great listener (according to her teachers). She has had the same 2 teachers this year as she had in her "3s" class- so that was an easy transition for her this year. She cannot wait to go to kindergarten. Momma on the other hand gets all teary just thinking about it.
She loves to sing and dance. She picks up words to songs so quickly. She loves "Jesus" music, country, Disney soundtracks, Counting Crows, Justin Beiber, The Beatles, and everything in between. She still takes ballet and tap and is looking forward to her next recital in June. She will do gymnatics and cheer camp this summer. We tried to get her to play soccer or t-ball this Spring but she was having none of that. Currently she says she wants to do dance, gymnatics, cheerleading, and golf. BUT NOT SKI! She's scared to go skiing. Which she'll have to get over because that trip is just around the corner.
She knows about 6 or 7 memory verses and prays Colossians 3:12 over us each morning on the way to school.
She has a big imagination and I love listening to her play with her friends, sisters, and by herself.
She's 110% girl. Pink, purple, glitter, unicorns, purses, skirts and dresses...that's our Grey girl.
She loves her sisters and takes such good care of them. They have the most fun playing together and i love hearing their giggles (the fighting, not so much). She's a tad bossy and definitely has that first born thing down pat. She can manipulate them and get them to play what she wants, watch what she wants, and trade toys with her.
Three words to describe our Grey the Great: sweet, silly, and sassy.
Random sayings from her that I've kept written down over the last year:
"There's even a sink in here!" (referring to our hotel room)
"Clap for the audience" (when performing)
"Tell me about the corndogs" (referring to cornfields by her house and the stories I tell her about my grandparent's farm)
"I'm going to poop like a boy and be here a long time" (no explanation needed here)
"My daddy is going to give you a spanking on the belly button" (when she was mad at me)
"I'm drinky" (instead of thirsty)
"God is with you, Hazel! He helps you!" (said to Hazel when she was getting mad while trying to put something in her purse and couldn't)
ME: "This isn't your world!" GREY: "But this is OUR house!" (Spoken in a moment where momma had no more patience, but Grey had a lot of sass)
Favorite things to do: color/craft, dress-up, dance parties, Shopkins, LOL Dolls, anything small and collectible, reading, & watching movies.
Please note on the chalkboard that last year Grey said her best friend was Jesus, and this years it's Laine and Arden. I think we went wrong somewhere over the last year. Ha!
