I am THAT Mom...Week 49...

...This past week was Spring break! It has been wonderful staying home with you! We got a little puppy, Georgia, a French Bulldog. She is cute, but my.oh.my. is she a handful! Mommy really did NOT want to get a new dog, but daddy was rather insistent...so here we are with you, an almost one year old, and a crazy, untrained puppy. I pray you will not feel the stress that I am having over this and the constant yelling of, "NO, Georgia!". Here are your weekly highlights and pics...

  • We have been out to eat a lot more in the recent weeks, as you are much more able to sit in the highchair and stay entertained. You love eating out and watching all the people around you. You usually just stare, but this week you decided you were going to be a little social bug. I thought you may be a little more on the timid side, but if this week was any indication, you've got a lot of daddy in you after all! (I wouldn't say mommy or daddy are timid, but your daddy has this amazing ability to talk to ANYONE about anything- he makes friends so fast! He certainly doesn't have a timid bone in his body!) Anyway, you were waving at all the patrons and smiling and talking. Even if they didn't wave back, you just kept on flapping your little arm!
  • One thing I love is how you are starting to put things together and away now. My favorite is how you like to move all your food and your sippy cup to the circle on your high chair.
At Patrizios- my favorite!
Playing with mommy's old toys at Gigi's house.
You spent the night there on Monday!
"Talking" on the phone. Another new trick!
Meeting your new sister for the first time.
 Playing with Georgia nearby.
 Helping daddy work.
 Shopping at our favorite store.
 We visited Gigi at work!
 Crazy morning hair.
I can never get enough bath time pics!
You were a jealous-bug when Georgia slept on my lap. You kept wanting to be held. You NEVER want to be held.
We went shopping with your sweet friend, Holden.
Miss Leslie sent us a picture of your "modeling" photo hung at the New York show.

I am THAT Mom...Week 48...

...We had some big events take place this week! Here are your weekly highlights and pictures...

  • This week you have decided that you are such a big girl and don't need to go to bed until 7. Which is just fine by me- that's more time I get with you in the evening.
  • I thought you might be teething the last few weeks, as I've seen a lot more drool & chewing again. Plus, you've been congested. (You're not fussy when getting new teeth, so that's good!) Well, sure enough, you're getting two teeth (the ones next to your top two)- one has already broke through, and the other is right behind!
  • You've stood by yourself several times this week, but as soon as you notice what you're doing, you plop right down!
Just a playin'.
From summer clothes (see above), to winter-wear in just 12 hours!
Playin'- it's just what you do.
Snoozin' on the way to Tutu's.
 Bath time.
You snuggled up with Gigi this week and took a nap. Mommy was jealous!
More bath time. You crack me up...you love looking at yourself on the phone.
Wearing Cooper's pirate hat, sitting in your drum, and wearing bloomers on your head. Just another week of fun!

I am THAT Mom...Week 47...

...Here are this week's highlights and pictures...

  • This week, I have really started to notice you are putting "things" together. So, instead of just destroying all your toys, taking them apart, and throwing them everywhere- you're still doing all those things- you're also putting things away and finding piece that go together. It's so fun watching you learn! You especially love taking things out of baskets, drawers, dryers, etc. and then putting them back in.
Morning Selfies.
A Sunday lunch with Aunt Allie and Uncle Matt.
If you look closely, you will see you're sitting in a high chair in the middle of the living room. Daddy was in the bathroom and mommy had to leave for work. Kind of trashy- but you were happy.
Sweet loves.
Helping Tutu with laundry.
You took out every sports bra and bathing suit I own from this drawer and put them back in for about 30 minutes.
Then you did the same with your shoes. Your faithful bear helped you out (see bottom left).

I am THAT Mom...Week 45 & 46...

...I'm a week behind! I'd like to say I've been too busy, but I honestly can't even remember what I've been doing that kept me from blogging about your little life last week!? Anyway, I did post your 10 month update, so that counts, right? What can I say about you as a 10 1/2 month old...you are a busy, busy bee. Always on the move- walking (with assistance) and crawling everywhere. You don't want to be held very often because you're too busy exploring! You're just the most absolute fun there is!

  • You LOVE this crazy little bear that daddy brought you from the airport in Oakland on a business trip. He brings you something every time he goes away, most of which will end up being donated to charity. This bear is pretty WT, but you carry it around with you everywhere, it's your absolute favorite!
  • You are the master of purees, so we have been trying more and more finger foods. Anything soft enough and tiny enough, we let you try. You are doing a great job of picking things up with your fingers. When you are done eating though, you let us know. You get quite the attitude and will whine, purse your lips, hit and swat the spoon, food, or packet, and throw your sippy cup of milk on the floor.
  • Speaking of sippy, you now take all your milk (when you're not nursing) in your sippy. Such a big girl! Hopefully this will help the weaning go easier in the next few weeks and we won't have to also wean you off the bottle!
  • You've been going to bed at 6:30 some nights (so a little later than your normal 6:00)
  • You're also napping less. You usually take 2 when you're home with us, but you're only taking one with the sitter and she says that some days it's only 45 minutes!
  • You love to play a game with us where you crawl away, stop and turn to make sure we're there, giggle, and take off again. Sometimes we go the opposite way and pop out to scare you. You laugh your little head off and crawl away again.
  • You're walking so steady (with hands or holding on to furniture) and standing on your own, until you realize what you're doing and then plop down or grab for something. You also pull up like it's second nature now.
  • You rarely suck your thumb anymore, but prefer to suck your pointer finger instead. So thankful for a little self-soother.
  • Your first doggy, brother Hansel, had to be put down last week. It was so very sad for all of us. I know you won't remember him, but he sure loved you- and you sure loved him.
Waking up from a car seat nap. Little sleepyhead.
 Best buddies.
Your Valentine's gift for Daddy. We never got a set of foot prints from when you were a hostpital, so these were a first!
 Little sweetheart.
Daddy dressed you while mommy was at a baby shower...we decided you looked like a middle school gym coach. (You can kind of see your "Oakland" bear in this pic.)
Fun at church with your friends.
At your weight check and trying to keep you entertained while we waited on the doctor. You are growing and went form 2nd percentile to the 5th in 6 weeks- yay!
 You loved this.
 Always smiles at bath time.
Napping with daddy during morning cartoons. (Mommy doesn't let you watch cartoons, or any tv for that matter.)
Fun with Gigi on Thursdays. You got your first set of pigtails- to.die.for.cute.
I think we're all caught up! I'll try not to miss another week! : )

I am THAT Mom...Week 44...

...This week was an interesting week! Mommy came down with the flu on Monday night. Luckily it was a short version and I was feeling much better by Thursday and was able to go back to work. Friday was a much needed snow day! I was so glad to spend the whole day just loving and playing with you! Once the snow melted, we headed out to meet up with Aunt Allie and your FCOR, Austin, who is currently living in Austin, TX! He was up in Dallas working this week. It was your first time to meet and you loved him! You also turned 10 months on Wednesday (which will be a separate post, soon)! Here are your weekly highlights and pictures...

  •  You have started standing by yourself without holding on to anything. This happened 3 times this week and it was only for about a fraction of a second, but it looks like this will be a new trick of yours soon!
  • I am amazed out how much sturdier you are becoming in all your movements...sitting up, standing up, walking along things, crawling so quickly...
Here are your unofficial "modeling" pictures (screen shots from my phone)!
Modeling is not all it's cracked up to be.
More tears. This was the last outfit change, and you were DONE!
 All bundled up for church!
My little sweet pea. You love this ball-cano!
One of your new favorite games: unloading your diaper bag! Seriously, hours of entertainment.
Your other new favorite game: tearing up catalogs and magazines and eating the pages.
