I am THAT Mom...Week 34...

...Well, this week did not go as planned. But that's life, Miss Grey! Even though you got sick, it was a wonderful week. Mommy was off work all week and got to spend every day with you. It was THE.BEST.EVER! I have so much fun just spending my days loving you! Here are your weekly highlights and pictures...

  • Monday we went shopping with the girls and got you some spring and summer clothes from The Closet, where Griffin's mommy, Leslie, works. I am so excited for you to grow into them some day...and carry the cute little backpack that you "needed".
  • You ate turkey this week and loved it!
  • You are blowing raspberries like crazy! You've found your tongue again and have been sticking it out and playing with your new teeth....
  •  ...Yes, I said teeth! You now have two! The bottom left tooth broke through 2 weeks after your bottom right.
  • So this week, my biggest mommy fear was faced. Snot. And lots of it. You caught a cold (I think from being in the nursery at church) and it was so sad. You were VERY congested and had a runny nose. One of my pet peeves has always been kids/babies with runny noses (not that they, or you, can help it), so I had Boogie Wipes on hand at all times, ready to wipe! We used the Nose Frida constantly, used some all natural vapor rub oil from Little Colds, put you in the shower with me to get some major steam, and used the humidifier at night. The first night you were sick, you were up from 2-3:30am. This is the first time I have gotten up with you in the middle of the night since you were 9 weeks old, so I can't complain. You haven't napped well, or slept well all week. Waking up as early as 5:30, and fussing quietly throughout naps and the night. We definitely aren't catching up on our sleep this Thanksgiving break, but I am grateful you are sick while mommy is home and that I can enjoy lots of snuggles and love. I think you are now on the mend, and I can officially say that snot isn't as big of a deal anymore. (I may eat my words at a later date).
  • You are officially a momma's girl. You like to play right next to me and if I move just a few feet away you crawl to right where I am. Sometimes you are okay with others, but if you get a glimpse of me, you will cry and fuss. This is just the sweetest thing in the world to me and makes my heart swell with love and pride that I get to be the one you want! (You love your daddy just as much, but you know where the milk comes from ; ))
I think this is just the funniest picture of you! You LOVE to see yourself in any mirror or camera! (and look at those teefers!)
I got so excited I could clip your hair back!
 Before bed snuggles!
My little cutie-patootie, bundled up for church!
So many toys to chose from...
We were going to go see Santa, but the line ended up being 2 hours long...we'll try again at a different time!
Playing in the car while we waited for friends after shopping.
Shopping troubles...too many cute outfits to choose from can wear a girl out. (Plus you screamed the ENTIRE way to Market.)
Look at those tears. You weren't feeling well, but that camera on the phone was cheering you up!
Daddy snuggles. (We spent lots of days in our jammies this week).
I think you will be very studious, as you study every little thing around you ever-so intently.
 My little pumpkin on Thanksgiving.
Eating your first piece of turkey! You loved it!
You can't tell, but it's 5:30 am here. You were up and ready to play. Mommy wasn't.
You would only nap in my arms, which was fine by me!

Jaimee had a Little Lamb...

...a little lamb...
 ...a little lamb...
...Jaimee had a little lamb...
...Whose fleece was white as snow...
 ...And everywhere that Jaimee went...
 ...Jaimee went...
 ...Jaimee went...
 ...And everywhere that Jaimee went...
...The lamb was sure to go...
... ...Why does the lamb love Jaimee so?...
...Jaimee so...
 ...Jaimee so...
...Why does the lamb love Jaimee so?...
 ...The eager children cry...
...Why, Jaimee (and Jared), love the lamb, you know...
...The lamb you know...
...The lamb you know...
...Why, Jaimee (and Jared) love the lamb, you know...
...The teacher did reply.

It was a wonderful, sweet Halloween at our house. We feel so blessed by our lovely, little lamb.

I am THAT Mom...Week 29...

...This week was a long week. Daddy was out of town for most of it, which made me a single, working mom! I so appreciate having your daddy here to help with you (particularly in the mornings, which you will soon learn, are NOT my thing). But we did have lots of fun together, and I didn't have to share you with him, ha! Here are your weekly highlights and pictures...

  • You're still working on eating and learning to like food. I tried a little BLW this week and gave you a chunk of avocado. You gnawed off a piece and I kind of freaked, so I am thinking I'll just be sticking to purees. This week you tried: green beans, butternut squash, and banana. You hated butternut squash. I mean you barely even tried it (I think you thought it was sweet potato again because of the color). You CRIED every time I tried to feed it to you. It was kind of funny, just because you're such a drama queen when it comes to food. I ended up mixing it with some banana and you liked it better. You LOVED green beans and bananas and ate those pretty well. I think you've still got some tongue thrust left and we are definitely "learning" how to eat. I'm still not loving feeding you solids, but I guess I can't breastfeed you forever! : )
  • You have been making all kinds of new sounds! I have heard 'n', 'g', 'j', 'l', 'd'...I think. It's really hard to tell, but you are definitely adding some consonants to your repertoire.
We've been doing lots of walking and enjoying the beautiful weather. Sometimes you snooze. You HATE the sun in your eyes!
You've been falling asleep in my arms after nursing this week.  I love the extra snuggle time.
 Silly goose!
 You're ready to go places!
 Giving me the eye.
 You love watching the dogs.
More walking...
Your frien, Miss Emery, has shared lots of her Halloween clothes with us...
You much prefer to play in the high chair than eat.
Snoozing at the Fall Festival at church. You are very excited to go back next year and play!
And a couple videos...

Pumpkin Patch, Take One...

...Holidays are a whole new ball game with a baby! They're SO much more fun! We got to experience our first pumpkin patch last Friday. A 6 month old can't do a whole lot at a pumpkin farm, but let me tell you, Grey was more than entertained. She loved looking around and watching her friends. And she REALLY loved grass and hay. I spent the majority of my time pulling the stuff out of her mouth! We got TONS of great pictures. We can't wait to go back, but this time with daddy, and in true Halloween fashion, wearing at costume!

I may or may not have gone overboard with pictures...BUT, it was her FIRST pumpkin patch outing! : )

Grass and hay were seriously her favorite part!
 Sitting like a big girl!
She's wearing her mommy's baby shoes!
So much to check out and see!
My little pumpkin with little pumpkins!
 BFFs by force.
She was so chill this whole time, just taking it all in. It was hard to get her to even crack a smile!
 My favorite of the day.
 Little girlfriends.
We got a couple mommy-daughter pics...but she was more interested in the ground than the camera.
 Now, what's this thing?
 More of this stuff, fun!
 More friends' pictures.
In serious conversation...WHY are our mommies doing this to us?!
This is when they were all about to start losing it!
Grey is just like, What's wrong with everyone?
