life with three little pretties: Twins...5 Months...

I had forgotten how much fun each little baby stage is! You are both changing and growing so much. I love every day with you...knowing you will never be this small again and we will likely never have more babies has my mommy heart aching and loving something fierce and indescribable. My three girls. THREE GIRLS. What a gift the Lord has given your daddy and me...and the gift of sisters for you all. Oh how I pray the 3 of you will be close, will love the Lord and love each other. I pray you are always an encouragement to one another and the first ones you turn to in times of joy and in times of trials.

Enough mushies, onto your monthly highlights and pics!

I'm not sure about weight this month, but you are wearing 0-3 mo clothes, all newborns have been packed away. Tear. Size 1 diapers.
You celebrated your first Thanksgiving in Arkansas at Gigi's house. We drove after your 7pm feed and then fed you again once we got there. You both did pretty good on the drive there- Hazel, you went through several short crying spells. Other than that is was a breeze!
When we came back from Gigi's house, we did two things. We moved you to your cribs instead of setting your pack-n-play back up in our room. AND we dropped your dream feed. I took your 10pm bottle and split half an ounce up between your other 5 bottles. So you now take 4- 4 1/2 oz per feed/5 times a day. I was nervous about letting go of that feed, but you didn't even know you were missing it. You are well fed and the best little sleepers ever.
So, your new schedule looks like this:

7am- rise and shine, take your 5ml of Prevacid and eat!
Eat again at 10am, 1pm, 4pm, and between 6-7pm.
You play after eating and your wake times are about an hour. Give or take 15 minutes.
Your first two naps are solid and reliable. After your 1pm feed, you both like to wake a little early some days (especially you, Hazel). Then after your 4pm feed, you may sleep 30-45 min. It's witching hour and your really pretty restless, and occasionally fussy.

You are both, truly, the best babies. You are so, SO easy going. You cry when you're ready to get up and eat and then when you're tired. You are amazing sleepers and so laid back. You smile and chat and are in awe of everything around you (particularly your big sister...well, in aw, and probably a little frightened too).
You are both trying SO hard to turn from back to tummy, with a little more momentum, you'll be there. Which means it's time to start breaking the swaddle. Luckily, we started leaving one arm out this past month. After a couple days of that, you were pro sleepers again.
You are both trying to suck your thumbs and fingers. You get them to your mouth but you can't keep them there for a very long time yet. Neither of you really require or take a paci anymore.
We had our first big outing to a public place and went to Chuy's for dinner to celebrate Aunt Allie and Papa Bob's birthday. We risked meltdowns because we knew there were enough people there to hold you both and take care of Grey. You both did really well and hardly made a peep. I'm sure it was sensory overload because we don't get out like that much...or really ever up to that point. You took a while to settle when we got home, but I think it's because we were a little off of your routine and it was a lot to take in. Hopefully these outings just get easier and easier!
Hazel, Hazel Pie, Happy Hazel- You are my more finicky sleeper. You like your routine and don't do well sleeping anywhere but your crib. You also tend to wake early from your naps. You love to show us your tongue and still love to smile all the time, at everything and everyone. If there was an award for happiest baby, you would win, hands down!
Scarlett, Little Lett, Scarletta Gene, Scarly, Sweet Scarlett- Oh, what a little sweetheart you are! You have really found that voice this month and love to just talk and talk and talk to us. Your Aunt Min really got you to giggle when she came to visit and it just melted my heart.
