...Well, it's your last update until you're FOUR. I'm going to go to a corner and cry now.
A real, big Grey girl smile!!! These are not often captured!

- Stats: Mostly all 3T clothes now- you're length requires size 3, but still not your width :) size 7 and 8 shoes
- Schedule: Same schedule...You go to bed between 7 and 8. If you haven't had a nap, it's definitely closer to 7. If you have napped, closer to 8. If you have napped, you won't actually fall asleep for some time...sometimes 9:30/10! You are usually up around 7:30.
- Eating: I feel like we're making some progress here. Very small baby steps, but still progress. Your favorites are still fruits, dairy, and carbs. We force you to "pick a protein"(meat) once to twice a day. I have lately told you that you have to start trying things. Especially vegetables because they help you go big and strong and you have to be big and strong in order to go to Disney World. This has helped a ton, even though it's still a battle. So far you have tried spaghetti, carrots, sausage, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, and chicken dip. All of which you liked but wouldn't eat more of. But at least your trying...and liking.
- Potty Training: You still require a pull-up at naps and bedtime. Naps are hit or miss as to whether you need it. If you sleep hard then you're likely to have an accident. Bedtime, we're not even close to not needing one.
- Personality/Friends/Relationships:
- You are very big into girls only play with girls. With a few exceptions (church friends).
- You are 100% girl. It is constant twirly dresses, dancing, singing, playing with anything and everything pink. I am just embracing it. Because it's so sweet. Not what I ever envisioned...but in true God fashioned, it's everything I never knew I always wanted.
- Your sisters...you are their number one fan. They adore you and you them. You all fight like cats and then play so lovingly. You are protective of them but also mother them to death. You make sure they always have a toy to play with when we get in the car, it's super sweet.
- Mom and Dad- You have been a little more even with your favorites, depending on your mood and time apart, you prefer one of us over the other. And also depending on what you want to do.
- You are such a sweet girl. I mean, you're totally 3 with some terrible moments and irrational fits that leave mommy and daddy shaking their heads in frustration, disbelief, or just in pure awe and good humor because it's so silly. But for the most part you are just this tender hearted little girl who really loves others. I can already tell that God has filled you with lots of compassion for others.
- Discipline: Timeouts seem to have slowed down and you're a little easier to rationalize with. We can usually talk through things and avoid fits. But there are definitely moments where we lose our patience and it's just a battle of wills. One we usually win. Because we have more experience. The things we are working on the most with you is being a good listener, not telling us no, AND THE WHINING. Oh goodness, the whining. We have really cracked down on these things.
- One big issue we had these past few months was writing on the wall with a crayon. No m'am. You did it once and daddy talked with you, but since you had never done anything like that before, we left it at that. Well, about a week later you did it again, with an Expo marker. All over. You lost cartoons for the weekend. You then decided to use pen to write on your kitchen about a month ago, which you also lost privileges for. Not sure what this is about...
- Play:
- Dress-up- Still your favorite. We change outfits no less than 3 times a day.
- Singing/dancing- Life with you is like living in a musical! You sing all day, to songs you know and love, and then you make up your own. It is so cute and entertaining! Your favorite songs right now are; Moana songs, The Hand Clap (Thank goodness you have no clue what these lyrics are), and Can't Stop the Feeling.
- Imaginary Play- You are very into any kind of little set of things that you can make interact: Shopkins, the figurines we bought for your Valentines, my little ponies, PJ mask figurines, critters, puffy Melissa and Doug stickers, etc. All of your little sets go on such great adventures.
- You love your babies, and have been playing with them a lot more, especially since sisters love them too.
- Coloring and writing is also a constant/daily favorite for you.
- Speak:
- Some of your notable phrases or funny comments the past 3 months have been:
- "Santa is watching youuuuu. Where are the cameras?" (Looking around).
- "I told youuuuuuuu"- you say this about everything, it's pretty cute.
- "Have a good night weekend!"
- I tell you all the time that you're getting bigger and your cheeks are getting smaller and it makes me so, so sad. Then I kiss them like crazy. You will randomly remind me that your cheeks are "almost gone."
- You out of the blue told me you were going to marry daddy and he was going to let you get a kitty cat.
- You still misuse pronouns, but much less frequently.
- Development and Learning:
- The teacher in me got so excited to see you start writing letters on your own!!! Oh my goodness!! I know you've wrote i, y, and j, and have also done g and e (not as legible).
- You're also tracing your letters now, not just scribble scrabbling.
- You are officially in a big girl room. You chose pink (of course) for the walls and then I took the from there (because I still can). I'll post pictures of your room soon. You've done great sleeping in your big girl bed. You're so tiny in that big ol' bed.
- Parent Struggles:
- Helping you learn to be a good listener
- Redirecting things you learn at school. You will say things like "tooty butt", which we are not okay with, and you enacted "you're not my friend" with some of your princess figurines. We talked about who said this, and you said a girl at school told another girl that. Ugh, this mean girl stuff starts early. We talked about how that felt for the little girl and the princess. You understand it makes them sad. I told you that you never say that to anyone.
- Prayers: You were a flower girl for Aunt Minny's wedding and I have never seen anything as cute as you. When you put on your dress you just knew that you were the most beautiful girl in the world. You stared and stared at yourself in the mirror and my eyes welled up with big momma tears. Grey, I pray that you always feel that beautiful. And that you know true beauty comes from within. That God has created you just as he meant to. That you are perfect just as you are. That your worth is found in God's unfailing love for you.
