...The Fourth is my favorite holiday after Christmas! All I need on this day is the 3 Ws: water (pool, lake...), watermelon, and Willie (Nelson). There is just something about those three things that make me feel like an American, ha!
We had a great fourth, spent with family and friends. We were lazy in the morning and then headed to Frisco for a pool party at this gal's. We played the day by ear, but headed back home around 5:30/6 to give the littlest pretties their bottles and get them to bed after their eventful day! Jared's family then brought over some ribs and the fixin's. We ate dinner with Papa, ChaCha, Aunt Mal, Uncle John, Jaxson and Kennedy. Jared and Grey went with them to go see fireworks, while I stayed and enjoyed a glass of wine while the babies slept. I was sad to miss out on watching Grey's face watching the fireworks, but I know next year we'll all be watching them together!
Grey has been counting down to "sireworks" and asked no less that a dozen times before breakfast, if it was dark yet!? She knew we'd see those fireworks when it got dark. Bless her heart, she had lots of waiting to do. She was so excited to celebrate America's birthday and pointed to every "America's Slag" we saw. Two days removed and she still shouts when she sees one and thinks it's America's birthday.
What a blessing to live in the country we do and to celebrate our freedoms with the ones we love!
And that's a wrap on 7.4.2016! Happy birthday, America!
