...What a fun month! It was our last month to spend together for summer. Your personality is developing more and more every day and it is so much fun to discover more of you! YSweet Grey, here are you 16 month highlights and pictures!
- At the end of the month you had your first ear infection. Mommy had just gone back to work. You started running a low temp Thursday and were fussy at GiGi's, then Tutu called on Friday to say you had a low temp again and was giving you Tylenol. When I picked you up and we got home, you just wanted to sit on the couch (unusual for you, a busy, playful toddler). Daddy walked in about 10 minutes later and I asked him to get the thermometer because you were burning up and completely lethargic. Your temp was 104!! Panic ensued. Mostly from you daddy who could hardly get it together. I had him call Cha Cha b/c obviously the dr. office was closed. She said to give you some Motrin since you just had Tylenol and to put you in a cool bath. You HATED this. It broke my heart to hear you scream, but we gave you a quick bath. Cha Cha came over right after work to check you out- and an infected middle left ear is what she found. She immediately called in ammoxil and we got you started on that right away. It took you a good 5 days to start feeling yourself, and we fought a rising temp for several days. Even though you've had some colds (RSV at one point), this was the first time I've seen you so pitiful and have a temp over 100. It broke our hearts.
- You can point to almost all your body parts: hands, knees, hair, toes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth, tongue, boo-boo. You still won't point at your eyes though.
- Animal sounds are our new favorite thing to teach you. Here's what you know: lions roar (with both hands up), cows moo, monkeys oo-ooo, bears growl (with a hand raised for a paw), sharks du-du-du (think jaws theme), bunnies hippity-hop (you bound your arms up and down), owls hoo-hoot, fish bloop-bloop...among others!
- You can follow simple instructions now...pointing out and picking out things we tell you (books and toys), if we ask you where something is, you will go and get it.
- You are obsessed with music and dancing!
- Daddy lets you watch too much tv (against mommy's wishes..that's because we wouldn't even have a tv if it weren't for him), you LOVE Doc. McStuffin and Mickey Mouse Club House.
- You're starting to imitate human things (hairspray in hair, patting babies, etc.)
- You ask what everything is!
- New Words: bubus(bubbles), uh-oh, boo, bo (book), boo (boo-boo), deesh (for any object she points to), peesjh (please)
- Words: mama, dada, da (dog), sooz (shoe), da (down), du (up), oooo, ak (icky), Nala.
- Favorite thing to do: WAVE! You wave at everyone and everything. If you hear anyone (indcluding songs) say hi/hello or goodbye, you wave!
- Disliking: diaper changes and new foods.
You love to lay on the floor and kick you legs!
Mommy let go over her OCD/neat-freak-ness and let you try painting. Outside of course. Georgia wanted to join.
Daddy snuggles.
Such a cheeser.
You're quite the little swimmer now. You rarely cry during lessons, just when the teacher takes you away!
We got to spend time with mommy's college BF and her baby boy, Leon. They live in Cali and we are so excited when they're in town!
You had a happy, healthy 15 month check up. Except for those shots.
Playing at GiGi's, with mommy's old kitchen set.
Wearing Aunt Allie's old necklaces and rocking in our old rocking chair.
You're getting quite the opinion on what you want to wear. You love putting on bathing suits.
We had a custard date with Miss Ashley and Wyatt. It was your first ice cream and you were on a major sugar high after. As was Wyatt. The video of y'all is so funny!
Sometimes you sit still.
That ear infection knocked you out.
Aunt Allie did your hair after a bath. Yikes!
Cuddles with Papa Bob.
More outfits you picked out.
