Grace v. Deliverance

At church a couple weeks ago, the message was about how we so often ask God for deliverance from problems, situations, troubled times...etc. But, instead of praying for the Lord to deliver us from the tribulations that help us to grow in faith and in Christ, we need to practice praying for the grace to deal with what we're facing in a Christ-like manner.

I thought this was a powerful idea. I so often ask God to fix this, fix that...but since that sermon I have been practicing to ask for grace in what I'm facing. I can already see the difference it is making in me and the way I am able to handle things.

I am so glad our Lord is the Lord of grace and mercy. I know I need it.
